Rosaleda

The register keeps its proofs; the rosaleda keeps its roses. Notes filed here print in the main sheet as well, but they are gathered here on purpose — they run on another clock, the year's rather than the release's, and they are read in another frame of mind.

What is written here is working record: what was pruned and where the cut was made, which variety failed and how, what the wall was asked to carry and whether it held. A garden, like a plate, is an impression taken under pressure; the notes are the proofs pulled from it, season by season.
